Having a strong understanding of climate change and climate action is an asset in today's job market in Canada. By participating in this program, you'll receive a professional certificate to authenticate your climate knowledge and skills!

The Climate Skills & Community Building Fellowship, developed in collaboration with the Canadian CED Network and the Synergia Institute, offers international youth in the Greater Toronto Area an unparalleled opportunity. This free program provides comprehensive climate education, professional experience, and climate skills enhancement through certification from Break The Divide and the Synergia Institute. With in-person and virtual study sessions, participants get to hone their climate skills, socialize, participate in mentorship and networking opportunities, and develop their climate action initiative that could receive funding from Break The Divide.

Break The Divide is a Canadian youth-led non-profit organization dedicated to connecting youth worldwide in discussions about climate change to bridge community divisions. Our unique "apathy to empathy to action" framework fosters empathy among young people, empowering them to take tangible actions for a harmonious and prosperous future.

Key Program Details:

- Open to international students and newcomer youth (recent immigrants) in the GTA aged 18 to 30

- Includes an open online course component with five educational climate modules, spanning from April to July

- Features in-person and online climate cafés (study groups) to support participants in their climate journey

- Creates a community for students to network, connect, and flourish

- Provides professional development through various workshops and completion certificates from Break The Divide and the Synergia Institute
