Job Opportunity

Position: Landscape Program Manager (Part-time)
Organization: Earthworm Foundation
Location: Remote in British Columbia or Alberta

About Earthworm

At Earthworm Foundation, we work with our members and partners to make value chains an engine of prosperity for communities and ecosystems with most of our staff directly on the ground.

We see a world where forests are a boundless source of materials and a home for biodiversity; communities see their rights respected and have opportunities to develop; workers are seen as productive partners, and agriculture becomes the instrument to feed a hungry planet and keep our climate stable

Your role

  • Lead the development and delivery of a multi-year landscape strategy in collaboration with First Nation rightsholders, consultants, funders, and internal teams — aligning with international best practices and locally defined priorities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project partners and funders, managing relationships and communication with First Nations, corporate members, and external stakeholders including government agencies, networks, forest certification agencies and conferences such as the Forward Summit and global platforms including the Consumer Goods Forum’s Forest Positive Coalition approach.
  • Oversee project planning and implementation, including annual and quarterly workplans, budgets, Asana (project management tool) tracking, and reporting deliverables for both internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate grant applications, landscape funding proposals, and business development materials, collaborating with field teams and relationship managers to secure and maintain financial support.
  • Ensure timely delivery of program activities through biweekly project check-ins, budget monitoring, and coordination of consultant contributions, while maintaining alignment with trauma-informed principles and relationship protocols.
  • Support strategic communication efforts by drafting external pieces, workshop content, and lessons learned in close collaboration with partners — identifying opportunities to amplify landscape impact in high-level forums (COP, UN events, etc.).

Your profile

You are passionate about advancing sustainability and Indigenous-led conservation efforts through respectful and long-term collaboration. You have experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects that span environmental, cultural, and economic outcomes — particularly in forestry or land-based initiatives.

With strong project management and organizational skills, you navigate relationship-building with First Nations, government entities, and corporate partners with cultural humility and clarity. You are adept at drafting proposals, leading workplans, coordinating across technical and communications teams, and articulating a shared vision through frameworks like theory of change, logical frameworks and/or monitoring and evaluation toolkits.

Whether preparing for community-based events or drafting grant materials, you bring a balance of systems-thinking, practicality, and empathy to your work. You're energized by challenges that require diplomacy, structure, and deep listening, and are motivated to support a more equitable future where people and nature thrive together.
