Summer job: Conservation worker
Type: age 30 & under / summer
Employer: Butternut Creek Nature Foundation
Location: Moose Creek, ON (45 mins east of Ottawa)

Job Description: habitat restoration, species cataloguing, social media content, public outreach, site improvement
Duration: 7 or 9 weeks

Type of work: Combination of on-site and remote
Hours: 30 hours/week
Compensation: $20/hour
Start Date: Immediately

Requirements:

• enjoy working outdoors, independently, in different weather and terrain
• possess strong writing and observation skills,
• have interest, experience, or education in habitat restoration, horticulture, or species identification
• show a willingness to learn how to use apps such as Merlin and iNaturalist

Reliable transportation required.

Two positions available, for 7 and 9 weeks.

Job will be a combination of on-site and remote work to be worked out with applicants. Preference given to applicants who have some work or educational experience in either the natural sciences or horticulture/silviculture.

Applicants should be between the age of 15-30. Indigenous applicants are invited to self-identifty.
