Job Opportunity

Position: Bookkeeper & Grant Coordinator
Organization: West Vancouver Foundation
Location: West Vancouver BC (in person)

About the Role
Join West Vancouver Foundation, a certified Living Wage employer, committed to creating a vibrant and inclusive North Shore since 1979. We distribute over $1 million in grants annually, supporting local charities in arts, education, health, environment, social services and more.

What You’ll Do
(22.5 hours/week, based in West Vancouver office)

You’ll balance two key areas:

  • Finance Administration
Maintain fund-based bookkeeping, reconcile accounts, issue CRA charitable tax receipts, track fund balances and distributions, support audit and budgeting processes, and help prepare financial reports for the board and finance committee.
  • Grant Coordination
Manage major grant cycles—from updating guidelines and application forms, coordinating grant committee meetings, to overseeing grant portal administration. You'll work directly with donors, volunteers, and local nonprofits, helping shape transparent and community-responsive programs.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (ideally with fund accounting)
  • Tech-savvy: comfortable with tools like CRM systems (we use Foundant Community Suite) or similar platforms
  • Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented and analytical
  • Excellent communicator—confident with clients, partners, and volunteers
  • Self-motivated team player with integrity and a passion for community service
  • Familiar with the North Shore—ideally living in West Vancouver, Squamish Nation, North Vancouver, or Lions Bay

Why This Role Matters

By ensuring integrity in finance and strengthening grantmaking, you’ll help empower local nonprofits to deliver meaningful impact. Join a supportive team committed to equitable hiring practices and inclusive community building.

Terms & Benefits

  • Permanent, part-time (approx. 22.5 hrs/week)
  • Flexible schedule: either three full days (Mon/Tue/Thu) or four shorter days (Mon–Thu)
  • Salary: $40,000–$43,000 annually ($34.19-$36.75/hour) plus extended health benefits and RRSP matching
  • Physical office located in a charming older house on the North Shore (second floor access via stairs, one gender-neutral washroom)
