HIRING AN EXPERIENCED GARDENER
$30 per hour + bonuses

Hiring: Gardener
Company: Fabulous Flora
Location: Downtown Toronto, Ontario

• Salary starts at $27/hr and increases to $30/hr after 5 days
• Most job sites are in downtown Toronto: south of St Clair, Landsdowne to DVP. Cycling to job sites is encouraged.
• Owner endeavours to create a relaxed work environment where your opinions & ideas are respected.
• You’ll be gardening part of a small team and sometimes alone.
• We garden using native pollinator plants as much as possible, no fossil fuel powered tools, no chemical pesticides.
• Flexibility to your schedule provided when possible.
• Owner bicycles to job sites towing a custom landscaping trailer with all tools. Vehicles only used for large loads.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• General gardening including but not limited to: weeding, pruning, planting, dead-heading, digging, trimming, raking, sweeping, clean-up, etc.
• Working outdoors in rain or hot weather.
• Will need to transport yourself to job sites

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Excellent ability to identify plants, weeds, shrubs
• Experience using hand & battery powered garden tools
• Good pruning skills an asset
• Knowledge of natives plants an asset
• Strong, fit and energetic
• Must love gardening outdoors regardless of weather
• Reliability & punctuality is mandatory
• Climbing a ladder on occasion may be required
• Landscape, horticulture, restoration ecology education an asset
• Must be a lover of gardening, healthy soil and the environment
• Good sense of garden design
