Non-Profit Fundraising Development

Position: Development Coordinator
Organization: Salal Foundation
Location: Remote within Canada. Preference for applicants based in British Columbia.

About the Role:

The Development Coordinator ensures a seamless collaboration between the Foundation and funders to foster high-impact partnerships. The Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in building and nurturing strong, long-term relationships, providing accurate reporting to relevant stakeholders to enhance partnership grant applications.

This position reports to the Partnership Services Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a contact for funders, building and nurturing strong, long-term relationships.
  • Maintain an up-to-date funder database and proactively research new funding opportunities.
  • Actively engage with funders and partners to identify new opportunities for collaboration, growth, and impact.
  • Support the preparation and submission of funding proposals.
  • Collaborate with the Lead, Director and relevant parties to ensure grant agreements and documentation is reviewed, signed, and filed in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Acknowledge grants and directed gifts within two weeks.
  • Coordinate and support partnership grant applications: assist with drafting and reviewing applications; facilitate submission with approval of the Director of Partnership Services (or CEO).
  • Coordinate and support partnership grant reporting: track reporting due dates, facilitate review and submission with approval of the Director of Partnership Services (or CEO).
  • Coordinate and support fundraising initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Other related tasks as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Background in a non-profit or business administration setting;
  • Previous experience with fundraising or development;
  • Experience accessing, developing, and facilitating contract administration required.
  • Project Management experience is an asset, but not required.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong Customer Service and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Detail-oriented, organized approach to your work. Documentation due diligence required due to the complexities of projects.
  • Experience using non-profit databases and software (Asana) for project management.
  • Experience using Google Suite applications.
