Position: Annual Fund Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a new member of our fundraising team, in the level of Annual Fund Manager. This person will coordinate our fundraising communications to our annual fund donors. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in organizing multiple projects, achieving goals, showing creativity and keeping to timelines. Reporting to the Director of Development, you will be instrumental in coordinating and tracking direct marketing initiatives that support the long-term growth and impact of the organization.

  • You have honed your writing skills for direct mail, digital and donor-centric communications. • You are solution-oriented, proactive and know how to juggle multiple projects efficiently.
  • You have experience in using fundraising databases for segmentation, coding, and donor management.
  • You have excellent analytical skills and the ability to simplify complex information for different audiences.
  • You are self-directed with great initiative and can work both independently and as part of a team.

About the job:

We’re looking for someone to lead our direct response fundraising efforts which includes direct mail, digital, telemarketing and door to door campaigns. You’ll handle report analysis in our database (Raiser’s Edge) to guide our fundraising strategies, work closely with the Communications team, and collaborate with vendors. Plus, you’ll build great relationships with our donors and be a key ambassador for Nature Canada.

We are looking for someone who has experience and is ready to dive in. We are excited to grow our donor outreach for individual giving and this job is action oriented and donor focused. That is why we are looking for a go-getter who is always looking for ways to make things better. We use Raiser’s Edge, Google and Asana to keep ourselves organized so experience using these tools will give you an edge. You must enjoy a fast-paced, team-focused environment where collaboration is key.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate fundraising campaigns across channels (print, digital, phone, door to door) to keep donors engaged and grow our community.
  • Partner with external agencies on direct mail, telemarketing and door to door canvass, handling creative ideas, scripts, and vendor details.
  • Plan and execute online fundraising strategies with our Digital team.
  • Track and analyze results to share insights, progress, and recommendations. - Create reports to help track goals and keep leadership informed.

Qualifications:

Needs (Must-have skills and experience to succeed in this role):

  • Degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving fundraising goals.
  • Strong writing skills to inspire donor support.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with donor database management and gift processing, especially Raiser’s Edge and Engaging Networks.
  • Collaborative team player who works respectfully and professionally with staff and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English.

Preferred (Nice-to-have qualifications that would be a bonus but aren’t required):

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and a Project Management tool like Asana.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Canva, Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • CFRE designation (Certified Fundraising Executive).
