Position: Environmental Modeler & Emissions Specialist

Lakes Environmental Software is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Environmental Modeler & Emissions Specialist to join our team in Waterloo, Ontario. This is an in-person position at our office located at 170 Columbia St W, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

About the Role

In this role, you will be instrumental in performing atmospheric dispersion modeling and developing comprehensive atmospheric emissions estimations for industrial and commercial processes. You will utilize your technical expertise to analyze complex environmental data, contribute to impactful projects, and communicate your findings clearly and concisely.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform atmospheric dispersion modeling using various software platforms and methodologies.
  2. Develop atmospheric emissions estimations from a wide range of industrial and commercial processes.
  3. Analyze environmental data and interpret modeling results.
  4. Prepare detailed and well-written technical reports documenting modeling methodologies, assumptions, and results.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams and potentially external clients on project deliverables.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in air quality regulations, modeling techniques, and emissions estimation methodologies.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, with a strong preference for Chemical Engineering.

  1. Proven experience in atmospheric dispersion modeling and emissions estimation.
  2. Excellent English writing skills are essential for preparing high-quality technical reports.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Proficiency with relevant environmental modeling software is an asset.
