CPCHE is seeking a part-time RentSafe Project Coordinator

Position: RentSafe Project Coordinator
Organization: Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health and Environment
Location: remote, anywhere in Canada
Date posted: July 7, 2025

RentSafe, an initiative of the Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health and Environment (CPCHE), is at an exciting time, with current projects focused on building on our work to address mould in rental housing and expanding our work to advance strategies that support communities across Ontario to improve climate resiliency in rental housing and improve health equity through intersectoral action on extreme heat, flooding/mould, and indoor air quality. The RentSafe Project Coordinator, working with the CPCHE secretariat and RentSafe partners, will support the development and delivery of these projects.

About CPCHE and RentSafe

The Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health and Environment (CPCHE) is a national collaboration of organizations with overlapping missions that have been working together for two decades to improve children’s environmental health in Canada (healthyenvironmentforkids.ca). CPCHE’s 17 partner and affiliate organizations have diverse expertise in public and clinical health, environmental protection, disability advocacy, law and policy, early childhood education, and health equity. CPCHE has a strong track record of developing evidence-informed policy positions and knowledge translation tools to empower preventive action to reduce toxic exposures and associated risks for the developing fetus and child. CPCHE is committed to environmental health equity and works to ensure that all children in Canada have healthy, sustainable and inclusive environments in which to live, learn, play and grow.

RentSafe is a core CPCHE initiative. RentSafe aims to address unhealthy housing conditions affecting tenants living on low income in both urban and rural communities in Ontario. With active involvement of public health, legal aid clinics, municipal property standards and by-law enforcement, social service sectors, and housing providers and tenants, RentSafe works to build awareness and capacity across sectors so that tenants, when faced with mould, pests, lead, radon and other unhealthy housing conditions, are better able to get the support they need. CPCHE has utilized a collaborative approach to RentSafe’s equity-focused projects, building up a robust network of organizations across Ontario that actively engage in the design, development and promotion of initiatives focused on addressing unhealthy housing conditions. Ultimately, the goal of RentSafe is to support the right to healthy homes for all.
