Engineering Co-op Student Jobs

Job Title: Environmental/Chemical/ Mechatronic /Engineering Co-op Student

Location: 65 Massey Rd Suite C, Guelph, ON N1H 7M6

Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Co-op Term)
Duration: 4 to 8 months, depending on the availability of the student
Start Date: ASAP

Waterloo Biofilter Systems Inc. is an industry leader in decentralized wastewater treatment solutions. We specialize in sustainable, low-maintenance systems designed to protect the environment and public health. We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented co-op student to join our MBBR technical team and gain hands-on experience in wastewater treatment engineering and field operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support routine maintenance and monitoring of treatment systems.
  • Assist in compiling technical reports and maintaining project records.
  • Assist with development of routine operation and maintenance manual.
  • Conduct basic water quality testing and log technical data accurately.
  • Participate in system performance evaluations and troubleshooting.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols.
  • Contribute to ongoing R&D and system optimization initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an Environmental Engineering, Process/Chemical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related post-secondary program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
  • Strong technical writing skill and report development is required
  • Having valid G-class driver’s license and willingness to travel to field sites is an asset, but not required.
  • Familiarity with wastewater treatment processes is an asset, but not required.
