About Keepers of the Circle
Keepers of the Circle is an Indigenous Hub operated by the Temiskaming Native Women’s Support Group (TNWSG), a non-profit organization founded in 1997 to promote the economic, cultural, and social equity of Indigenous women. The TNWSG was also mandated to establish culturally based programs and services to for Indigenous women and their families in the District of Temiskaming. In 2018, the mandate extended across the province with our appointment as the Ontario representative for the Native Women’s Association of Canada. Keepers of the Circle (KOTC) programming is focused on the restoration and retention of Indigenous languages and Indigenous Traditional Knowledge; economic security and self-determination; and creating culturally safe spaces for Indigenous women and families.
About the Role
The Skills Development Program Coordinator, under the direction of the Training Team Manager, will primarily be responsible for managing the intake and registration process for new members interested in participating in Keepers of the Circle’s training and skills development programs. This includes conducting interviews, assisting with applications, and gathering necessary information to prepare members for training. In this role, you will be the initial point of contact for training participants and will be responsible for providing information, assistance, and support to ensure a positive intake experience. You will also be responsible for educating interested applicants about Keepers of the Circle’s different programs and coordinating referrals to other departments or programs as needed.

This position is in office on a full-time basis and is based out of our Kinoomaagegamik Training Centre, located in Kirkland Lake, ON.
