Position: Conservation Specialist
Organization: Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society - NWT
Location: Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, the position requires residence in the NWT
Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 per annum

Duties:
Working in collaboration with the Executive Director the Senior Conservation Specialist has three key areas of responsibility:
1. Bring Science Based Perspectives to Conservation Initiatives and Issues in the NWT
2. Contribute to CPAWS-NWT Program Leadership
3. External Communications

About CPAWS-NWT:
CPAWS-NWT (cpawsnwt.org) is one of 13 Chapters of the Canadian Parks & Wilderness Society (CPAWS), which is a national non-profit conservation organization established in the 1960s. The NWT Chapter was founded in 1996 by a group of NWT volunteers and since 1999 has been supported by a volunteer Board of Directors and staff who work with public and Indigenous governments and organizations, communities, other non-government organizations and individuals to achieve conservation outcomes in the NWT.
CPAWS-NWT’s office is located at Sǫ̀mba K’è, Denendeh, on Chief Drygeese Territory; homeland and traditional territory of the Yellowknives Dene, and homelands of the North Slave Métis, and Tłı̨chǫ peoples.
