Tree Band Aid seeks an Urban Forestry Coordinator

Position: Urban Forestry Coordinator
Employer: Tree Band Aid
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba / Hybrid

Position Overview:

The Urban Forestry Coordinator at Tree Band Aid will play a key role in both administrative and operational aspects of urban forestry. The position combines office-based tasks with hands-on fieldwork to support the city’s tree health services, including tree banding and seasonal activities. Responsibilities include engaging with clients to enroll them in the tree banding program, maintaining accurate client records, and coordinating with field staff to ensure smooth operations. The Coordinator will also assist in conducting property visits to assess tree banding needs and provide quotes. Additionally, the role will involve piloting new tree health services, such as Dutch Elm injections, fertilization, and mulching.

The Coordinator will support the General Manager in training new field staff, conducting quality checks on tree banding practices, and managing logistics for the Chestnut Trees stand during the holiday season. There will also be opportunities to contribute to research and planning for future business initiatives. This role requires flexibility, as it involves both independent work and collaborative tasks in varying weather conditions. The Coordinator will play a vital part in expanding Tree Band Aid’s services and supporting the urban tree canopy’s health, with potential for long-term growth within the organization.

This position offers a blend of field and office work, ideal for someone passionate about urban forestry and eager to contribute to environmental conservation efforts.

About Tree Band Aid:

Founded in 2001 in Winnipeg’s River Heights area, Tree Band Aid provides high-quality tree banding services to protect the city's tree canopy from cankerworm infestations. In 2022, we expanded by taking over the local Christmas tree stand, previously known as ‘Pete’s Trees,’ and rebranding it as ‘Chestnut Trees.’ Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to pilot new tree health services, including Dutch Elm injections, fertilization, and mulching.
