Hiring: Part-Time Classroom Assistant
Organization: Calgary Nature Kindergarten (CCES)

In 2015 CCES founded Calgary’s first Nature Kindergarten offering the Alberta Kindergarten curriculum through learner-led exploration of the natural world. It is a government-approved and publicly-funded kindergarten, in which children will spend the majority of their days exploring and learning in nature. It is the first in Calgary and one of only a few operating across Canada.

Part-Time Classroom Assistant

Interested candidate should:

• Have early childcare certification education
• Have some experience working with children with ASD and nero-diverse children
• Have experience working with children aged 4-6 years old
• Have experience with collaborative problem solving model and sensory regulation
• Have experience and/or knowledge of working in an emergent curriculum environment and the Reggio Emilia philosophy
• Be flexible and looks forward to responding to planning to changes in programming as the day requires - based on weather or the interests of the children
• Enjoy collaboration and working in a team planning environment
• Have or be willing to take first aid certification
• Have or be willing to submit a current (within 3 months) criminal record and vulnerable sector check
• Is able to get to whichever of our school locations they are interested in working at.

This position will:

• Work directly to support children and the classroom teacher in daily routines and activities including risk assessment with children
• Require you spend majority of the day outdoors except in extreme weather
• Require you be available 2 to 3 days per week 8:30am to 4:30pm
• Pay $20 per hour
• Begins just prior to the 2025-2026 school year (end of August 2025)
