Our record of accomplishment includes achievements in public policy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, electric mobility, water protection and leadership development.

Windfall Ecology Centre is seeking candidates for the position of Application Developer. The successful applicant will directly report to and work with the Operations Director to design, develop, and implement custom applications integrating with the Microsoft Power Apps platform. As a part of the role, you will work closely with the team and client stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into functional and efficient applications.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and implement custom applications using Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Azure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand requirements, define and design new features.
  • Translate program requirements into functional and efficient applications.
  • Integrate Power Apps with other Microsoft services such as Power Automate, SharePoint, Power Pages, Azure, and Dynamics 365.
  • Perform testing and debugging of applications to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Develop modern front-end UI solutions using React.JS.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Power Apps, Power Automate and Azure applications.
  • Stay updated with the latest features and updates in the Power Apps platform.
  • Document application design, development processes, and user guides.

This position is funded in part by the Government of Canada through Eco Canada and is open to applicants who are aged 15-30, are post-secondary graduates in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Applicants must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or hold refugee status in Canada.

Qualifications:

What you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven knowledge of programming languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Apps development.
  • Experience with integrating Power Apps with external applications or other Microsoft services.
  • Proficiency in REST API/OData development.
  • Strong understanding of application design principles, API management processes, and best practices.
  • Ability to gather and analyze business requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
