The Seabins

Seabins are devices that float near the surface of the water and capture litter that is within the water. From smaller items such as plastic fragments and cigarette butts, to larger take-out food and beverage containers, the Seabins are able to collect a variety of items. It is important to collect and sort the waste to determine the types of items that are frequently making their way into the Great Lakes and negatively affecting our waterways.

The PixieDrone

The PixieDrone is a remote-controlled waste collector. The unit targets all forms of floating debris in the water, including organic, plastic, glass, metal, paper, rubber, etc. It is important to collect and sort the waste to determine the types of items that are frequently making their way into the Great Lakes and negatively affecting our waterways.

All equipment required will be provided by GLPC, and we only ask you to dress appropriately for the weather, wear sunscreen, and bring a reusable water bottle!

*Event end time may vary depending on how much waste has been captured by the Seabin.
