The Seabins
A Seabin acts as a floating garbage bin in the calm waters of marinas and ports. When installed, it pumps water through the device, intercepting floating debris, macro- and microplastics. We gather this debris to collect and sort the waste. It is important to determine the types of items that frequently enter the Great Lakes and negatively affect our waterways.
The BeBot
The BeBot is a beach-cleaning robot that captures plastic debris and other litter through sand-sifting technology. From smaller items such as plastic fragments and cigarette butts, to larger take-out food and beverage containers, the very first BeBot in Canada is able to collect a variety of items.
All required equipment will be provided by GLPC; we only ask that you dress appropriately for the weather, wear sunscreen, and bring a reusable water bottle!
*Event end time may vary depending on how much waste has been captured by the Seabins/BeBot
