Recycling, Waste Diversion, Waste Reduction

Wanted: Master Recyclers

SWRC is looking for waste reduction enthusiasts in Saskatoon. The Master Recycler program aims to train citizens to understand the recycling system better and bridge the gap between awareness and action.

We want to create a volunteer pool of knowledgeable residents who inspire and motivate others to change their recycling behaviours at home, in the workplace, or other community locations.

Volunteers are required to take a training course in order to further their understanding of Saskatoon's recycling system. Training is offered either in person or online.

Two training cohorts are scheduled for 2025. If you would like to be part of the...
1. June cohort please apply by May 30th, or
2. October cohort please apply by September 14th

Once training is completed, 3 hours (at minimum) of volunteer outreach is required.

Skills Required

  • Willingness to learn and share information
  • Communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of environmental and sustainability topics
  • Ability to engage with people of all ages
  • Dependable and punctual
