Role: Assistant Observer
Organization: Rocky Mountain Eagle Research Foundation
Location: Troll FallsKananaskis, Alberta

The Spring Eagle Count runs March 1 – April 20, and we’re looking for Assistant Observers (AO) to help with migration monitoring in beautiful Kananaskis. We are located in Hays Meadow a 1km walk from the Troll Falls Parking Lot.

No experience required — just curiosity, reliability, and a love of being outdoors.

Why volunteer?

  • Spend the day outside in the mountains
  • Enjoy the rush of the Kananaskis River right in front of you
  • Witness spring migration up close
  • Support important citizen science and conservation work

What you need to know

  • Role: Assistant Observer (AO) Shift: 11:00 am to sunset
  • Experience: None required — training provided
  • Perks:
    • One-way mileage covered for the official AO
    • Temporary park pass exemption for your shift

We are currently seeking volunteers for the following dates:

  • March 2, 4, 5, 11, 18, 19, 25
  • April 8 and 15

If you can help with one day or several, it makes a real difference.
