Role: Ongoing Volunteer Administrative & Event Assistant
Project: Second Chance Sanctuary
Location: Milton, GTA, Ontario / Hybrid

Second Chance Sanctuary is a developing animal rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary, currently building its operations, systems, and public-facing initiatives. One of its major upcoming initiatives is Stars for Second Chances, a private, invitation-only VIP charity event taking place in 2026.

We are seeking multiple reliable and motivated volunteers for an ongoing, long-term role supporting both day-to-day administrative needs and special projects, including event planning and coordination. This role is ideal for someone looking for meaningful, continuous involvement with a growing animal-focused nonprofit.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Administrative and organizational support for Second Chance Sanctuary
  • Scheduling and calendar management (appointments, meetings, deadlines)
  • Managing emails and correspondence, including replying to and sending emails on behalf of the organization
  • Answering and returning phone calls as needed
  • Running local errands within the GTA (items, drinks, supplies, sanctuary needs — all purchases reimbursed)
  • Assisting with planning, preparation, and on-site coordination for events, including Stars for Second Chances
  • General support tasks as the organization continues to grow

Hours & Commitment:

  • Flexible, ongoing volunteer role
  • Hours may vary week to week
  • Increased involvement during major projects or event periods
  • Reliability and follow-through are essential

Requirements:

  • Must have a personal email address and phone number to communicate on behalf of Isla / Second Chance Sanctuary
  • Ability to travel to the Greater Toronto Area when required
  • Stable internet connection for calls and online communication
  • Organized, responsible, and comfortable working independently
  • No specific prior experience required — training and guidance provided
