Tree care, urban forestry and arborist jobs

Position: Entry-Level Arborist / Ground Worker

Location: based near Gerrard E and Greenwood, Toronto ON

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to join our arboriculture team. This is a great opportunity for someone with outdoor work experience who wants to build a long-term career in the tree care industry.

Previous arboriculture, landscaping, construction, forestry, or equipment experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who shows a strong work ethic, good attitude, and willingness to learn.

Role and Responsibilities

You will work alongside experienced arborists and assist with:

• Tree and shrub pruning
• Tree removals
• Brush dragging, chipping, and wood processing
• Stump grinding
• Tree planting
• Hedge trimming
• Site setup and cleanup
• Exploratory root excavations
• Chainsaw and power equipment operation
• Basic equipment and vehicle maintenance
• Supporting climbers and other crew members
• Maintaining a safe and organized worksite
• Operating company vehicles once trained and qualified

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Be dependable, punctual, and willing to work hard
• Enjoy working outdoors and performing physically demanding work
• Be comfortable working in different weather conditions
• Be willing to learn new skills and take direction
• Work well as part of a crew
• Have a strong focus on safety
• Have previous landscaping, construction, forestry, tree care, or similar experience — preferred
• Have experience using chainsaws, wood chippers, or other power equipment — an asset
• Have tree climbing experience — an asset
• Have a valid driver's licence and clean driving record — preferred

Training and Growth

We are looking for someone who wants more than just a temporary labour position. The right candidate will have opportunities to develop skills in:

• Tree climbing
• Rigging and removals
• Equipment operation
• Arboricultural best practices
