SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Manager, Hydrology and Hydraulics this position is responsible for providing support in developing and implementing programs and projects that fulfil the Authority’s obligations and objectives in floodplain regulation, flood risk assessment, flood emergency preparedness, and sustainable management of water levels and flows.
This position supports in the development and review of hydrologic models, 1D hydraulic models, coupled 1D- 2D hydraulic models to estimate extent of flooding from spills especially in urban creeks, development of rating curves for complex long culverts and/or storage behind railway crossings/highways. Responsible for review of background reports to extract required information for setting up hydrology models such as land use, drainage pattern, SWM pond location, type, stage storage discharge curve, drainage area, imperiousness and method used in the report. This position is one of the main contributors in assisting with maintaining and running the flood forecasting models. It also participates as a flood duty officer, and, if required, participates in the Emergency Management System during a flood event, all of which support the flood forecasting and warning program, another core mandate of CVC.

Annual Salary Starting At: $79,329 per year.
