Position: Farm Camp Facilitator Position – Summer 2026
Farm: Paper Kite Farm
Location: Prince Edward County, Ontario
Housing: We have subsidized on-farm housing available - private rooms at below-market rates with shared kitchen, bathroom, utilities, internet, laundry, and communal space. Great if you're relocating to the County for the summer and want an immersive farming community experience.

The Basics
Perfect for Education Students & Recent Graduates!
Are you studying education or recently graduated and looking to spend your summer outside instead of in a fluorescent-lit classroom? Paper Kite Farm offers a chance to gain real teaching experience while learning about sustainable agriculture, outdoor education, and how kids light up when they pull their first carrot out of the ground.
No prior farming or camp experience required - we'll teach you everything you need to know about leading kids through a farm day.
About Our Farm Camp
Our summer camp brings kids ages 5-12 into hands-on agricultural and outdoor adventures. Through gardening, cooking, animal care, nature exploration, and creative projects, campers learn about sustainable farming, food systems, and natural ecosystems while building confidence and connection to the land.
We emphasize Asian culinary traditions, multicultural approaches to agriculture, and food sovereignty - helping kids understand that farming and foodways look different across cultures and that all those traditions matter. Our camp is unique in Prince Edward County for centering these diverse food stories.
What You'll Actually Do
Lead daily camp activities for up to 12 children, keeping everyone safe, engaged, and having fun. Guide hands-on gardening and harvest time, basic cooking and food prep, animal care activities, nature exploration in our woodlot, and natural art projects. Help kids understand farm-to-table connections and traditional agricultural practices through activities that let them touch, smell, taste, and discover.
Maintain the daily schedule and activity flow, supervise snacks and lunch, document the day's adventures, communicate with parents, and help with setup and cleanup. Basically, you're creating the kind of summer camp experience kids remember for years.
What We Need From You
What Makes You Stand Out
The Environment
You'll work primarily outdoors in whatever weather summer throws at us - sun, rain, heat, the occasional surprise thunderstorm that sends everyone running for cover. You'll move between garden spaces, our woodlot, and indoor facilities. Our farm team will support you and provide ongoing mentorship in outdoor education techniques.
Housing Option
We have subsidized on-farm housing available - private rooms at below-market rates with shared kitchen, bathroom, utilities, internet, laundry, and communal space. Great if you're relocating to the County for the summer and want an immersive farming community experience.
