About Keepers of the Circle
Keepers of the Circle is an Indigenous Hub operated by the Temiskaming Native Women’s Support Group (TNWSG), a non-profit organization founded in 1997 to promote the economic, cultural, and social equity of Indigenous women, girls, gender diverse people and their families.
About the Role
Keepers of the Circle is looking to recruit two experienced Co-Leads. This exciting and innovative project is focused on designing and delivering training curriculum with communities, apprentices and industry experts to help them build skills in low-carbon construction and meet the demand for sustainable, green housing. Trainings will be filmed to create video-based training content for future pre-apprentices, apprentices, and employers in the skilled trades. Keepers of the Circle has skilled trades demonstration trailers that will be used to travel to communities and deliver onsite, hands-on construction training.
The Co-Leads will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of this project. The role will involve engaging in partnership discussions with Indigenous communities, unions, employers and videographers to plan construction projects and the connected low-carbon, green building curriculum. The role also involves overseeing training development and delivery including scheduling and planning travel logistics for in-person training and organizing training materials to support the successful implementation of the trainings. Travel will be required to oversee construction training onsite across Canada and engage with Indigenous communities.
