Role: Strategic Partnerships Intern
Organization: Reimagine Agriculture
Location: Remote, living in Canada

The Strategic Partnerships Intern will collaborate with our Building Alliances team to engage with key stakeholders including post-secondary students, NGOs, corporations and elected officials to develop key collaborations with the aim of reducing food loss and waste and conventional animal agriculture.

They will report to the Executive Director and collaborate with staff, volunteers and board members. The position is fully remote and is 4 months long, with a start date of December 1st. The hourly wage is $18/hr, 36 hours per week.

Eligibility:

Based on the funding provided for the position, interns must be:

  • No more than 30 years of age at the start of the internship;
  • Graduated from a post-secondary program;
  • A Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or person who has been granted Refugee status in Canada; and,
  • Not in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) during the internship

Reimagine Agriculture is a Canadian charity that strives to create a compassionate, sustainable and resilient food system through our building alliances, knowledge mobilization and public policy dialogue. Focusing on key issues such as reducing conventional animal agriculture and food waste and loss, we envision a food system that meets the needs of current and future generations.

Responsibilities:

  • Curate and create evidence-based reports and materials to engage with key stakeholders
  • Support outreach to key stakeholders including students, nonprofit organizations, government officials and corporations.
  • Collaborate with relevant board members, staff and volunteers

What we are looking for in you:

  • Strong working knowledge of agricultural-food system issues, including animal agriculture and food waste
  • Strong writing, copyediting and proofreading skills
    • Some experience writing fact-based, educational material is an asset
  • Experience in outreach and public facing roles is an asset
  • Positive attitude and growth mindset
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Well-organized
  • Personable team player with strong ability to communicate in writing and orally
