We’re hiring creative, reliable, and enthusiastic youth who want hands-on experience in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Tailored to each team member’s unique interests and skills, our positions encompass a diverse range of potential areas. These positions are crafted to support and inspire you to explore, grow, learn and challenge yourself. Staff will benefit from comprehensive initial training and continuous support throughout their journey with us. We are committed to providing an inclusive and respectful workplace.

Key duties will include:

• Support and assist camps as needed. Plan and lead one camp
• Help run regular events & programs so everything operates smoothly
• Create one or more special activity based on your Activity Focus area
• Work with community partners to foster connections and collaboration
• One or more Activity Focus areas; below.

Activity Focus areas:

Maintenance

• Assist with general cleaning, upkeep & grounds care
• Habitat improvement
• Learn to help with basic to intermediate building maintenance & improvement projects

Food Programs

• Work with existing food programs and initiatives to support food literacy and security
• Develop and lead food, farming & heritage related activities
• Assist with Saturday Market set-up and takedown

Youth Programs

• Plan and lead activities and events for youth 10 - 24 years
• Support and encourage participants in the Youth Leadership Program

Volunteers

• Develop training material, processes and orientation
• Support youth and senior volunteer engagement

Older Adults

• Plan and lead engaging activities for older adults
• Support volunteers involved in these programs

Other

• Basic office and admin support
• Technical support and computer improvements
• Create short informational videos
• Promotion, advertising, marketing & public relations

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Good communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of local activities, resources and community groups

Assets: FoodSafe, Bronze Cross, NLS or other relevant certifications

Required: Current First Aid with CPR & AED, Current Criminal Records and vulnerable sector check.

Anticipated Start Date and hours:

• May and /or June - Flexible hours, up to 20 hours.
• July 2 - August 30, 2024 - 35 - 40 hours a week

Pay range: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour DOE.
