Location: Metro Vancouver (field-based + remote)

  • Timeline: 16 weeks between April 27 - September 4, 2026 (flexible start within this window)
  • Hours: 15-20 hours/week
  • Compensation: $23-26/hour + 4% vacation pay + end-of-term impact bonus ($200–$500)

About the Role

Some days you’ll be in the forest with kids who are discovering slugs, building forts, and learning about the natural world. Other days you’ll be storytelling, editing, and creating the content that brings more families into that experience.

This is a hands-on co-op role for a student who wants to do real marketing work that matters. You’ll be embedded in our programs, capturing authentic moments as they happen, and translating them into stories that move families from curious to registered.

This isn’t a shadow role. Your content will be published, your ideas will be heard, and your work will directly shape how many kids get outside this summer.

What You’ll Do

Content Creation & Social Media

  • Capture photo and video content in the field during live programs
  • Plan and publish regularly across Instagram and Facebook, with an emphasis on Reels, carousels, and stories optimized for reach and saves
  • Write captions that balance authentic voice with clear calls to action
  • Monitor and respond to Instagram DMs and comments in a timely manner
  • Support boosted post and Meta ad creative alongside our team
  • Engage with aligned community accounts to grow organic reach

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track metrics across social and registration channels
  • Maintain a simple monthly dashboard (engagement, reach, link clicks, conversions)
  • Bring ideas and observations to improve content performance and enrollment

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Current student in marketing, communications, education, environmental studies, journalism, or a related field
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills - you can shift tone from heartfelt to action-driven
  • Hands-on experience with Instagram, Facebook, and content creation tools (Canva, CapCut, or similar)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather - a portion of your hours will be in the field
  • Curious about what drives people to take action: clicks, signups, conversions

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, or similar
  • Familiarity with SEO basics or email marketing platforms
  • Interest in or background in outdoor education or nature-based learning

What You’ll Gain

  • A real portfolio of published content and campaign work
  • Mentorship from a team that spans outdoor education, marketing, and operations
  • Immersive experience in a growing outdoor education organization
  • Hours that flex week to week based on program schedules
  • An end-of-term impact bonus tied to your contribution to enrollment and content goals
  • Hands-on exposure to the full marketing lifecycle, from content creation to enrollment impact

Compensation

  • $23-26/hour based on experience
  • 4% vacation pay in lieu
  • End-of-term impact bonus of $200-$500, assessed collaboratively based on contribution to enrollment growth, content output, and overall impact
