Position: Trail Liaison

Role Description:

This is a full time youth summer position for a Trail Liaison at Rainbow Routes Association. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team, who loves working in the outdoors with our community. The Trail Liaison will engage with participants on trail walks, collect data from trail counters, and analyze feedback from trail users. The role will be a mix of time on the Rainbow Routes trails and our office at Minnow Lake Place. A

Lead tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Coordinate Trail Keepers who volunteer on the trails
  2. Communicate with key partners regarding upcoming trail events
  3. Attend hike programs, while promoting the mission and values of our Association
  4. Trail inventory review and map distribution
  5. Trail counter data collection, community trail surveys with analysis

An understanding of the current trails within Sudbury, Ontario and the Rainbow Routes network is considered an asset. The role is located in Sudbury, ON, at our local office in Minnow Lake Place, 1127 Bancroft Drive.

Skills

  • Trail programming experience such as Hike Ontario hike leader training certification, or similar
  • Strong technology and communication skills,
  • Organizational skills and time management skills,
  • Problem solving skills,
  • Program management
  • Experience with social media, Canva and Linktree
  • French communication skills would be considered an asset

Qualifications

  • Experience in working with volunteers and trail work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector is preferred
  • College diploma or degrees related to outdoor education, communications, or information technology considered an asset

Salary

$17.60 per hour.

Hours

35-37 hours per week from May until the end of August 2026. Applicants must be age 30 or younger at start of position due to the Canadian government grant funding requirements.
