Job Title: Content Design Developer
Organization: Opt2Refuture
Location: Remote work is possible for a majority of the work, with some requirements for in person team meetings on a monthly basis near Owen Sound, Ontario
Background:
The Crazy Canadian Electric Bus Tour is a project to engage Canadian young people, aged 10 to 25, with climate science and climate hope-through-action. You will be a key member of a small team working under the direction of Stacey Spiegel of Parallel World Labs. Parallel World Labs is a global leader in interactive, immersive exhibits for museums and other public spaces, as you will see on their website. The project is guided by the board of directors of Opt2Refuture and their advisors.
You will be able to apply your knowledge, your skills and your convictions to a creative project with the potential to change young lives and, thereby, the direction of climate action in Canada.
The ultimate intended medium is an immersive digital experience, including meta-humans and interactive climate simulations, contained within a Canadian-built electric bus that tours this country from coast to coast to coast.
The initial phase of the project is aimed at having a prototype experience installed at the Grey Roots Museum near Owen Sound, Ontario by May 2026, in order to gain feedback from the public for further development of the bus experience.
Position Description and Job Function:
In collaboration with other team members and project advisors you will be responsible for creation of the concept design document, then building out the content framework and the content for the immersive experience that will be at the core of the Crazy Canadian Electric Bus Tour. You will take the lead in researching key areas related to human impacts on climate, solutions that mitigate and reverse damage and pathways to these solutions. You will help script immersive experience content for simulations and 2D and 3D project elements. The buildout of the content will require data base development, meta-tagging and data organization/validation to support the programming team members.
