About Swiya Farms

Swiya Farms is a regenerative, community‑driven demonstration farm dedicated to restoring soil health, growing nutrient‑dense food, and building resilient local food systems.

An Indigenous‑led non‑profit, our mission is to regenerate shíshálh lands through Indigenous stewardship and regenerative farming, offering a living demonstration of reconciliation grounded in land, learning, and relationship.

Position Summary

We are hiring for several vegetable farm and ecological restoration worker roles. These roles supports the daily operations of our regenerative market garden and the expansion of our ecological restoration. This role includes all aspects of hands‑on food production, harvesting, and site stewardship while learning practical regenerative farming skills. Since this is a demonstration farm, you will be frequently engaging with community members on site. The position can be flexible to your interest with more responsibility given in vegetable production or ecological restoration work.

Full-time (35-40 hr/week), seasonal (May–August) with opportunity for extension

Compensation: $20-25/hour (depending on experience) + access to fresh produce

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with soil preparation, planting, transplanting, weeding, watering, and crop maintenance
  • Support greenhouse propagation and seed starting
  • Harvest, wash, and pack produce
  • Assist with crop monitoring and integrated pest management
  • Assist with restoration activities across the site
  • Identify and remove invasive plant species
  • Plant and maintain native shrubs, trees, and pollinator plants
  • Support ecological monitoring and field documentation
  • Support with volunteer stewardship days including volunteer instruction and supervision
  • Propagate and care for native plant nursery
  • Maintain tools, workspaces, and farm infrastructure

  • Interest in regenerative or organic agriculture
  • Comfortable with physical outdoor work
  • Reliable and organized
  • Observant
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Experience working in Indigenous communities
