Property maintenance, Groundskeeper jobs

Hiring: Seasonal Maintenance Hand
Employer: Private residence
Location: Private residence north of Brampton, GTA, Ontario

Seeking candidates for a full-time seasonal (generally mid-April to September) maintenance hand on a private property in Caledon, Ontario. This position focuses on the overall maintenance and presentation of the property and its assets. General hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30am – 4pm. The duties will primarily take place outdoors and inside the shop. The maintenance hand will work both independently and in a team environment; and will generally work alongside the maintenance lead.

Roles and responsibilities can vary and are not exhaustive of the following:

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct seasonal grounds maintenance as required for the following: Grass cutting and line trimming, debris and leaf clean up, detailing around buildings and gardens, trail maintenance, pruning & brush cutting, cleaning outdoor amenities
  • Assist with general maintenance for the following: Basic repairs, cleaning of garages and shop, greasing equipment, cleaning vehicles and equipment, weekly garbage & recycling duties
  • Maintain pond, including frequent cleanings & treatments

Requirements:

  • Practical knowledge of grounds maintenance and general property upkeep
  • Experienced operating of lawn mowers, trimmers and other small equipment
  • Familiar with and comfortable operating basic power tools (saws, drills, etc)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work well within a team environment and independently
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to lift upwards of 50lbs
  • Willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Hold a clean and valid Ontario license and have reliable transportation to commute to work
  • Legal to work in Ontario

Wage: $20 - $22 per hour based on experience.

Sustainability: We are sustainable and encourage battery powered equipment where possible, we chip prunings and cuttings to make our own mulch, we recycle organics (mainly leaf matter) for composting, and we maintain naturalized meadows that we have been amending with the collaboration of local conservation authority as well. We also actively engage in invasive species management to encourage native plants to flourish.
