Position: Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark Coordinator

Salary Range: $66,300.00 to $78,000.00 annually

About the Role

The Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System Coordinator plays a key role in protecting one of Canada’s most biologically rich and ecologically significant natural areas. This position is responsible for coordinating the efforts of multiple partner agencies working to enhance biodiversity in the natural lands surrounding Cootes Paradise Marsh and the Lower Grindstone Creek. You will lead program coordination, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, communications, and data management to support the collaborative work of the EcoPark System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the EcoPark System Secretariat, including work plan development, budget management, reporting, and financial coordination.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration among EcoPark partner agencies, ensuring alignment with shared conservation goals.
  • Support the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among partners.
  • Assist with strategic project proposal development, funding applications, and stewardship program delivery.
  • Collaborate with RBG and partner agencies to deliver consistent, impactful communications.
  • Coordinate media and stakeholder engagement efforts to raise awareness of EcoPark initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support for the EcoPark System Management Committee and Governing Council.
  • Prepare meeting materials, coordinate document approvals, and manage logistics to support strategic governance.
  • Maintain and update the EcoPark System website (Squarespace), document repository (OneDrive), and GIS platforms (ArcGIS Online).
  • Ensure effective data sharing and collaboration tools are in place for all partners.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience managing collaborative projects and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of budget development and financial oversight.
  • Knowledge of biodiversity conservation initiatives at the local, provincial, and national levels.
  • Familiarity with urban ecological restoration practices, invasive species management, and GIS mapping.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and consensus-building abilities.
  • Critical thinking and risk management capabilities.
  • Experience planning and facilitating strategic meetings and workshops.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ArcGIS Online, CMS platforms, and data management tools.
  • Valid Class G driver’s license and clean driving record (insurance eligibility required).
