Hiring: Education & Camp Program Instructor

Help lead outdoor nature programs for children during spring school field trips and summer camps at Willow Park Ecology Centre.

This is a great opportunity to work with children (ages 4–16) while helping them explore and learn about local nature, including plants, animals, and ecology.

Programs are delivered mostly outdoors and include activities such as nature hikes, habitat exploration, crafts, gardening, games, and science-based learning. The nature park serves as the classroom for school programs and camp activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Help deliver outdoor educational programs for visiting school groups and summer campers
• Lead nature-based activities following program outlines
• Prepare materials and assist with program setup
• Communicate respectfully with children, staff, and volunteers

• Follow WPEC program and safety guidelines
• Report any incidents or concerns to the Executive Director

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and/or outdoor activities preferred
• Well suited for university students interested in education, environment, recreation, or childcare
• First Aid/CPR and Police Check required

Schedule & Pay

May 4 – September 4, 2026 (16 weeks)
Typical hours:

• 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (school programs)
• 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (summer camp weeks)

Some flexibility during non-program weeks.

Pay: $17.60/hour
