Your Impact at Willowdale Asset Management – Canfield Regenerative Farm

As a valued team member of our Market Garden Field Crew, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of Willowdale Asset Management’s Canfield Regenerative Farm in Canfield, ON which is part of Haldimand County. Your primary responsibility will be to support the cultivation, maintenance and harvesting of our market garden crops, catering to our Community Support Agriculture (CSA) program and farm visitors.

Role Location & Scheduling

This full-time, seasonal role spans from May 1st to October 31st, we have 2 opportunities available. Located among picturesque landscapes in Canfield, Ontario, our regenerative farm offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in sustainable agriculture practices.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience in organic market garden farming
• Passion for organic produce, agriculture, and sustainability
• Love for the outdoors – ability to work in all kinds of weather conditions
• Strong ability to work both in a team and independently

Physical Requirements: This role involves lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as required by law.

  
You’ll Stand Out if You Bring:  

• Education in organic agriculture or regenerative farming practices
• Problem solving skills specific to organic crop production
• Ability to apply generally known methods of pest and weed management

 

What You’ll Be Doing Each Day   

• Field work including compost spreading, weeding, direct seeding, and transplanting
• Harvesting, washing, and packing vegetables
• Assisting with weekly packing of custom CSA share orders
• Maintaining clean and organized workstations
• Pruning and trellising greenhouse and field tomatoes and cucumbers
• Pest management and soil health applications

This posting is for a new budgeted position. The expected hourly range for this role in $18 to $21 an hour.
