Do you love getting your hands in the soil, working with a team, feeding your community, and contributing to a sustainable way of life? Want to take your gardening skills to the next level?

Wheelbarrow Farm is hiring farm workers for the 2026 growing season.

About the Farm

Wheelbarrow Farm is located one hour north of Toronto, nestled among the rolling hills and forests of Durham Region. Entering our 19th year of production, we grow five acres of mixed vegetables and flowers using organic and sustainable practices.

Our methods combine small-scale intensive market gardening with tractor-based field production.

We sell our produce through:

  • A 300+ member CSA program
  • Two Toronto farmers’ markets
  • A spring seedling sale
  • A short winter CSA
  • An online store for CSA members

Wheelbarrow Farm has a strong reputation for high-quality vegetables, environmental initiatives, and a welcoming community.

We are owned and operated by three friends, each with complementary roles (Field/Operations, CSA/Marketing, Accounting/HR). Our field crew is typically 4–5 full-time staff.

We value a good attitude, a sense of humor, and healthy work/life balance — along with delicious food, positive vibes, and the occasional game of vegetable baseball.
