Position: Operations Manager
Organization: Watershed Watch Salmon Society
Location: Fraser Valley / Lower Mainland, BC

Watershed Watch Salmon Society is a science-based charity working to defend and rebuild B.C.’s wild salmon. 

Operations Manager

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Environmental Sciences) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years in administrative and/or project support (nonprofit/charity experience is a strong asset).
  • Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience in nonprofit finance, full-cycle bookkeeping, and budget development, tracking, and reporting.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) and content tools (Meta Business Suite, Canva, Adobe). WordPress familiarity is an asset.
  • Bookkeeping training/experience with QuickBooks Online; comfortable with full-cycle bookkeeping and payroll.
  • CRM experience (preferably Keela and NationBuilder) or ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work both independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
  • Ability to problem-solve, think creatively and strategically, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Willingness to occasionally work evenings/weekends.
  • Familiarity with Pacific salmon ecology and management (nice to have).
