At Simple Riches, we prioritize efficiency, soil health, and a positive team culture. For 2026, we are looking for a crew members who are ready to immerse themselves in a high-intensity, 4-acre organic production system.
Professional Work Culture: We work a disciplined 35-hour week (7 hours/day). We value your time and believe that a rested farmer is a better farmer.
Advanced Organic Tech: You won’t just be weeding. You will gain exposure to (or help manage) Sap Analysis, Fertigation, and Low-Till intensive systems.
Modern Tools: We use the right tools for the job: BCS tractors, Paperpot transplanters, and specialized cultivation equipment.

The Seasoned Pro:
You have 1–3+ seasons on a production farm.
You’re looking to sharpen your technical skills in soil science and machinery.
You can work independently and identify what needs to be done next without constant supervision.
The High-Aptitude Beginner:
You have "transferable stamina" (e.g., experience in landscaping, tree planting, construction, or competitive athletics).
You are a fast learner who obsesses over the details and takes pride in a job done right.
You are looking for a farm that will actually teach you the "why" behind the "how."
Production: Seeding, transplanting, and bed prep using low-till methods.
Harvest & Post-Harvest: Harvesting, washing, and packing to a high aesthetic standard.
Systems Management: Operating small machinery and assisting with irrigation/fertigation (training provided).
Stewardship: Assisting with cover cropping to build our soil ecology.
Simple Riches organic produce is a small-scale intensive vegetable and flower farm located on a beautiful 100-acre property just outside of Markdale, ON in Grey County. The property features a mix of gardens, pasture, forest, swamp and walking trails throughout. There is a vibrant community of small-scale organic farms and artisans living in the area and endless amounts of lakes, rivers and trails to explore.
How We Farm

We have just over 4 acres of the farm in production for vegetables, flowers and fruits.
We have one large greenhouse and three small tunnels for season extension and heat loving crops. We also have a heated greenhouse where we start all of the seedlings in the Spring.
We grow a large variety of crops for our CSA and two farmers’ markets. We aim to grow using minimal tillage and try to nurture the soil and ecology as much as possible.

The Team

The farm is co-managed by Alex and Amanda. Amanda also runs her own operation on the property, focusing on strawberries, asparagus, corn, cut flowers, and animal care. We have two friendly dogs and three (mostly) friendly cats. 2026 will be our 5th year of production and we are excited to teach and work with you out in the field. We are very passionate about small-scale organic farming and are keen to share with you the knowledge and skills we have learned organically farming over the last 9 years.
