Position: Outside Maintenance/Boat Driver
Resort: Bartlett Lodge

Location: inside Algonquin Park, Ontario

Bartlett Lodge is Algonquin Park's smallest and most historic lodge! We have 12 cabins, 2 suites, and 2 platform tents that house our guests from around the world. Experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to live and work in one of Canada's oldest Provincial Parks.

We are looking for an experienced and energetic individual to join our maintenance and operations crew. The maintenance and operations crew are responsible for repairs and upkeep of the resort to maintain the grounds and equipment. We are hiring for 1 vacancy. Prior experience is a definite asset and a boating license is required.

This position is a full-time contract position LOCATED IN ALGONQUIN PARK (45 minutes from Huntsville, 3 hours from Ottawa/ Toronto) with an anticipated start date of May 1st, 2024 until the end of our season on October 28th, 2024. Candidates must be able to complete the entire season to be considered for this position. You may be required to work holidays, weekends, split shifts, and on occasion 6-day weeks. Since we are a smaller resort, we are able to give our guests personalized attention. The successful candidate should be outgoing and possess a natural talent for customer service.

Qualifications / Duties include:

• Experienced in the areas of general maintenance such as electrical and plumbing
• Provide professional and friendly service to all resort guests
• Assist guests with luggage and other cabin related requests
• Operate Bartlett's boats to provide safe transport of lodge guests and visitors to and from Lodge property
• Light fires, restock wood, prepare kindling, cleaning of fireplaces
• Repairs including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, heating, furnishings and fixtures, light carpentry, door and window repairs
• Perform other resort maintenance tasks as required including but not limited to lawn care, property maintenance, and cleaning
• General outdoor and resort maintenance and handy type work
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and team approach

Pay is based on an hourly wage of $20-25 per hour, based on expereince, plus a share of our generous tip pool. For the average staff member in 2023, this worked out to an extra $8500 for 6 months, or almost $8 per hour.

If the candidate is willing to relocate, we provide staff accommodations and two meals per day. Employees are welcome to use our amenities including canoes, kayaks, and bikes. Employees are also able to enjoy unlimited access to the park at no cost during their days off. Pay is in addition to our generous tip pool.
