Nature and Scope

We are looking for a personable and passionate individual to join the Haliburton Forest Guest Services team as one of our Housekeepers. A positive attitude, strong communication, strong organization skills and initiative are all important qualities for the position. Our Housekeepers are responsible for ensuring that all our accommodation units and common spaces are clean and sanitized for when guests arrive. This position reports to the Guest Services Manager and indirectly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong support to the shared values of Haliburton Forest: safe, collaborative, professional, productive, and proud
• Follow legislation and standards of: Workplace Violence and Harassment policies, AODA, Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Cleaning accommodation units (making beds, washrooms, dishes, kitchen, etc.)
• Washing and folding laundry
• Cleaning common spaces (comfort station, main office, etc.)
• Deep cleaning in the off seasons
• Keeping clean and safe workspaces at all times
• Assisting with Base Camp duties (campsite cleaning, pumping gas or propane, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 1 year work experience in the housekeeping industry preferred
• Current first aid and CPR would be an asset
• Ability to balance competing priorities
• Positive, constructive attitude, especially when the going gets tough
• Collaborative with good communication skills
• Personable
• Able and willing to work effectively with different kinds of people
• Enjoys a fast-paced busy work environment
• G2 or G driver’s licence
• experience driving atv and/or snowmobile is an asset

Compensation

• Pay: $20.00 per hour

Schedule

• Part-time Hours
• Weekend work will be required given the nature of the business
• Typical workday is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm but can vary from week to week
• Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
