Position: Advisor, Talent & Culture
Company: Dunsky Energy+ Climate
Location: candidates based in Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver. You will have the option of working from the office full-time or in a hybrid mode, i.e. combining work from the office for at least 2-3 days per week and from your home for the remainder of the week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work closely with the Partner, Operations Lead to ensure that we recruit, support, and retain top talent.

More specifically, your responsibilities will be:

Recruitment and onboarding (50-60% of the role):

  • Manage the recruitment process, including planning the process with the sponsor, doing the outreach (e.g. posting positions on job boards, sourcing candidates), reviewing and assessing candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, reporting on progress, checking references, and preparing offers;
  • Welcome the employee, coordinate the onboarding process, and provide support for the successful integration of new employees;
  • Nurture and maintain a talent pipeline of potential future candidates;
  • Proactively suggest or bring improvements to the recruitment process and tools;
  • Handle work permits and similar issues that may arise.

Team support:

  • Benefits: Be the first point of contact for employees with regards to the benefits offered by Dunsky, which include group insurance, a retirement savings plan, active and public transport contributions, an employee and family support program, and more;
  • Team building: Organize regular and varied team-building events, in collaboration with our Specialist, Team and Administration Support and our Happiness Crew .
  • Review Cycle: Coordinate and support our performance review cycle, including the feedback process, employee data preparation, and contract updates;
  • Feedback: Coordinate our annual peer-to-peer feedback exercise.
  • Professional development: Coordinate our internal annual trainings and promote professional development opportunities amongst the team.

Reporting and Tracking:

  • Coordinate the administrative duties related to employee departures and extended leaves;
  • Maintain accurate employee records with our benefits providers and prepare bi-weekly benefits payments/contributions financial ;
  • Support the Manager, Accounting in the preparation of biweekly payroll;
  • Prepare reports for provincial workers’ health and safety/compensation boards as well as coordinate tasks related to health and safety requirements;
  • Keep up-to-date employee-related tracking tools;
  • Other related tasks.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are currently looking for a motivated, dynamic, and collaborative Talent & Culture Advisor.

Critical skills and experience:

  • at least 5 years of experience in recruitment or in a similar position
  • knowledge of best practices in different aspects of HR functions, particularly recruitment and onboarding
  • strong interpersonal skills and empathy
  • care for the happiness and well-being of others
  • strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
  • autonomy and initiative
  • strong attention to detail and rigour
  • excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing, in both English and French*
  • a good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel

Additional skills and experience of value:

  • academic training in human resources or a related field
  • experience working for a professional services firm
  • experience in team building and event planning
  • an interest in climate change or other environmental/social issues

*This position will involve constant and ongoing communication with candidates and employees (as well as government agencies like health and safety boards) from across Canada and potentially beyond, including with individuals who may speak exclusively in English or (to a lesser degree) in French.

Our offices in Montreal are in a modern and bright space located in the hyper-green, LEED Platinum Maison du développement durable, minutes from downtown metro stations and overlooking the new Esplanade Tranquille. In Toronto, our offices are located in the central and vibrant neighbourhood of Liberty Village, close to TTC and Go Train stations. Based on the 11th floor of a LEED-certified building, our office offers great city views and lots of natural light. And, in Vancouver, we have workspaces at The Hive, a centrally located coworking for impact-driven organizations, where we are surrounded by an inspiring community.
