Are you passionate about protecting the environment and supporting local communities? Kawartha Conservation is seeking a dedicated and motivated Forestry and Landowner Services Technician to help promote reforestation and afforestation programs across the Kawartha watershed.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in supporting frontline stewardship action and organizational delivery – balancing hands-on work with project management and community engagement. As a key member of our Stewardship team, you’ll work directly with landowners, partners, and municipalities to advance our programs that enhance forest restoration, ecological diversification, and conservation on public and private lands. What You’ll Do

• Support Landowners: Build strong relationships with landowners and provide guidance on implementing tree planting projects that promote healthy, biodiverse, and climate resilient forests.
• Deliver Programs: Plan and manage a variety of forestry programs, including the Forests Canada Planting Program (formerly 50 Million Tree Program), community tree planting events, urban planting programs, and tree seedling sales.
• Lead in the Field: Conduct site visits, evaluate soil health, and support restoration projects.
• Design and Innovate: Design credible and creative planting and maintenance plans.
• Coordinate Funding Support: Administer landowner cost-share programs, prepare grant applications, and manage project-specific budgets and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with contractors, municipal staff, Registered Professional Foresters, and community partners to advance shared environmental goals.
• Promote Safety and Compliance: Uphold strong health and safety practices and ensure work aligns with organizational policies and procedures.
• Contribute to Innovation: Recommend program improvements and support the development of new initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
