Role Summary

Within Goldfin’s growing consulting business, the Finance Analyst is a high-impact and hands-on role, supporting financial planning, performance analysis, and operational decision-making. This role plays a critical part in scaling financial processes, improving visibility into project and company performance, and enabling leadership to make informed strategic decisions.

Operating in a lean environment, the Finance Analyst works closely with leadership, project management, and operations to deliver timely insights on revenue, profitability, utilization, and cash flow, while helping build the financial infrastructure required for continued growth.

Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
  • Track actuals vs. budget and explain variances
  • Develop financial models to support resourcing and compensation planning, pricing, and growth decisions

2. Revenue & Project Profitability Analysis

  • Analyze project-level performance (revenue, margin, utilization)
  • Partner with project management and delivery teams to revise forecasts and/or improve project economics
  • Identify trends in billable hours, rates, realization, and utilization

3. Pricing and Strategic Support

  • Assist with pricing and profitability models for proposals and contract development
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support business decisions

4. KPI Development & Reporting

  • Build and maintain dashboards for key metrics, such as project and deliverable margins, effective billable rates.
  • Deliver regular reporting packages to leadership

5. Cash Flow & Financial Health Monitoring

  • Maintain cash flow projections, monitor cash position, AR, and billing cycles
  • Help ensure the business scales without cash constraints

6. Process Improvement & Systems

  • Help implement and improve financial systems, tools, and processes
  • Automate reporting and reduce manual work
  • Support integration between finance and project management tools

7. Revenue Operations

  • Ownership and implementation of invoicing activities, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with QA/QC procedures and contract terms.
  • Interacting with clients, contractors and vendors to answer questions and resolve issues.

8. Financial Operations

  • Ownership and implementation of internal accounting activities, including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciling expenses, and tax administration.
  • Liaise with external accountants on payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, tax payments and financial reporting.

9. Banking Operations

  • Manage Goldfin’s banking needs, including managing accounts, credit, and credit cards.

Profile / Ideal Candidate

  • 2–5 years of experience in finance, FP&A, consulting, or accounting
  • Strong analytical skills, combined with the ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving to make recommendations or take initiative to implement solutions
  • Experience building models and data tracking and monitoring systems (Excel or equivalent)
  • Experience with project-based or services businesses is a strong asset
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Able to translate financial data into actionable business insights
  • Strong communication skills—can work directly with non-finance stakeholders
