Hiring: Farm Crew
Farm: Two Roads Farm

WHO WE ARE

We are an 11 year old small-scale family farm, thoughtfully using agroecological approaches to grow mixed vegetables and some flowers on approximately 2 acres on Denman Island, a Northern Gulf Island in the Comox Valley, BC.

We use agroecological, human-scale growing practices. We use a small tractor, two walk-behind tractors, and multiple human-powered tools. We like to work hard and laugh often. We take pride in feeding our community really really good food. We value caring for the land we farm, the community we farm in, and the people we farm with. We make decisions thoughtfully with these values in mind.

Our team has 4 returning farmers, including 2 farm owners. We are looking to add 2 full time Farm Crew to our team this season. Our small team works closely and values open communication, kindness, and co-creating a workplace that is efficient, works to people’s strengths, and is solution-oriented.

Our Farm Crew participates in many different parts of operating a small farm, including seeding, field prep, planting, weeding, plant management, pest control, harvesting, packing, equipment and infrastructure repair and maintenance, and marketing. We work hard in all kinds of conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.

We are striving for work-life balance for everyone working on our farm. We will work to support team members in finding this balance and avoiding burnout, including scheduling time off during the season.
