Food security, Therapeutic horticulture

Position: Community Liaison Facilitator
Organization: Earthwise Society
Location: Tsawwassen, Delta, Metro Vancouver BC

Earthwise Society has been part of the Tsawwassen community for 20 years.

Over the past five years, our programs have expanded in the areas of food security and therapeutic horticulture. We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Community Liaison Facilitator to raise the profile of the Society in the community and help us diversify revenue streams. Working in consultation with the Executive Director, the Community Liaison Facilitator will address the following priorities:

Duties and responsibilities:

OUTREACH

Goal: Advance the society’s profile in the community and increase active engagement

  • Identify opportunities to raise organizational visibility and prioritize for implementation
  • Grow and strengthen existing community networks and partnerships
  • Reach out to raise awareness about the Earthwise programs and explore new partnership opportunities
  • Deliver community presentations about Earthwise Society and our key programs including therapeutic horticulture and food security.

FUNDRAISING

Goal: Diversity revenue streams to improve discretionary funding:

  • Evaluate effectiveness of fundraising options; prioritize
  • Increase revenue streams from events and community engagement, including donations and annual Dinner in the Garden
  • Lead implementation of sponsorship program
  • Increase corporate engagement and support
  • Research and identify new grants and funding opportunities
  • Assist with grant applications, prepare and review drafts

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in not-for-profit management, business, communication or similar
  • At least 5 years related experience
  • Education and awareness of environmental health and social issues that our programs address
  • Excellent communication, marketing, and networking skills
  • Experience with public outreach
  • Experience writing grants
  • Familiarity with with South Delta Community an asset

TERMS

This is a part-time position 18 – 24 hours per week from May to December 2026 to be paid in the range of $30/hr. The position may be extended with the possibility of increased hours based upon a positive performance review and achievement of goals.
