Positions: On-Call Event Support
Organization: Rivershed Society of BC
Locations: Must live in the Fraser Watershed i.e. between Valemount/Prince George/Vanderhoof and Lower Mainland.

Contract Type: Short-term, on-call contracts – access to a vehicle is required.
Compensation: $25-30/hour depending on experience. Paid travel time and mileage.

About Us:

The Rivershed Society of BCs mission is to connect, protect, and restore the Fraser's 34 riversheds. We envision a resilient watershed where salmon, people, and economies thrive in rivershed communities. To further our mission, we are seeking multiple on-call Event Support Contractors to represent Rivershed at various events throughout the Upper, Mid, and Lower Fraser Watershed regions.

** This role will primarily be evenings and weekends, with the occasional weekday opportunity

Role Overview:

As an on-call Event Contractor, you will table at community events on behalf of the Rivershed Society of BC. You will engage with event attendees, share our mission, distribute materials, and help increase awareness of our initiatives. This is an excellent flexible opportunity for individuals who are passionate about environmental stewardship and enjoy engaging with the public.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend scheduled events across the Upper, Mid, and Lower Fraser Watershed regions.
• Represent the Rivershed Society of BC in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
• Distribute informational materials, engage with attendees, and answer questions about our mission and programs.
• Event setup and takedown as required.
• Provide feedback and reports on event outcomes to our team.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience attending events on behalf of non profits, or other forms of community outreach.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of environmental issues and a passion for Stewardship.
• Ability to travel within the region you live in – i.e. if you live in Kamloops we would ask you travel within the Thompson area.
