The Kitchens at Hotel Wolfe Island function and exist to make fresh food from scratch every day, all year long, while supporting local farms, fisherfolk, and foragers.

Our farm-to-table operations cover breakfast and a roadhouse (The Dawson), fine dining/special events/private experience (The Piano Room), a summer only dockside Patio, and the ‘Commons’ which is a 1000-person live music ‘park’ for stations and kiosks.

All venues offer live music, the hotel houses a recording studio, and all are tooled to provide a unique culinary experience for our guests.

We're looking for friendly, reliable team members to learn, grow, and eventually lead i.e. we are recruiting for the long term if you’re willing to teach, and we are taking on apprentices as well.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with all food preparation, service presentation, and contributions to overall creativity
  • You will learn to buss, clear and clean tables and interact with our guests
  • We all maintain a clean, sanitary workspace, ensuring all areas remain tidy and organized
  • restocking stations, getting ready for service, communicating all needs, and fulfilling all orders
  • maintain merchandise and retail displays
  • providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service
  • you will learn to assist behind the bar and support beverage service at times

This is a fast-paced, customer-facing role that requires attention to detail and is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and taking pride in creating a welcoming environment

Schedule & Availability:

We are very busy from May through October, and we also do offsite catering for special everts and high-end clients. November to April allows for some time off and more training.

Full time all year ‘round is available to the best and others will move to part-time in the off season and continue to train if you are apprentice level.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Positive Attitude to build strong Customer Service skills
  • Must be comfortable in a challenging, fast-paced, hands-on work environment
  • Must be Reliable, Responsible, and Team Oriented.
  • Some must be able to multitask between Front of House, Retail and Kitchen duties
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate is a goal for apprentices, a Must for Journeyperson Cooks.
  • Smart Serve certification is a bonus; it will be eventually required.
