Position Title: Outreach and Communications Coordinator
Organization: Nova Scotia Working Woodlands Trust & Medway Community Forest Cooperative
Location: Work location is flexible/remote, however the candidate should be able to commute to Southwestern Nova Scotia on a semi-regular basis.

Annual Salary: Starting at $55,000, commensurate with experience

The Nova Scotia Working Woodlands Trust (NSWWT) is an exciting new initiative that combines traditional conservation with small woodland stewardship.
We aim to uphold a rich diversity of forest values and provide unique solutions to maintain the long-term stewardship legacy of landowners through ecological forestry and conservation.
The Medway Community Forest Co-op (MCFC) is Eastern Canada’s first Crown land community forest initiative, and leads a variety of projects focused on forestry, recreation and public outreach on our 15,000-hectare land base outside Caledonia, NS.
The NSWWT and MCFC work in partnership and share resources and staff to help expand our missions. Together, we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented outreach and communications coordinator to provide support to both organizations while our current coordinator is on maternity leave.
Job Description:
The Outreach and Communications Coordinator will lead the execution of our landowner engagement strategy and build targeted outreach to grow public awareness of the NSWWT and MCFC. The position requires strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to oversee the development of new digital and print resources to expand the reach of the Trust and the MCFC.
This dynamic role is ideal for an individual with a passion for forest conservation and an interest in executing innovative marketing approaches to connect with diverse landowner groups. The ideal candidate has a strong vision for design, content creation and storytelling, can use qualitative tools and gather insights to inform future marketing efforts. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills and would enjoy engaging with land stewards on a daily basis.

Compensation: Salary for the NSWWT Outreach and Communications Coordinator position starts at $55,000 per year with additions negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The NSWWT offers benefits to all employees and a flexible work schedule.
