Position: Fundraising & Partnerships Manager
Organization: The Gaia Project
Location: Hybrid (Fredericton-based office)

  • Term: One-year contract (with potential to extend)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible hours; some evenings/weekends for events
  • Travel: Occasional travel within NB (~5 times/year)
  • Compensation: $55,000-$75,000 annually (37.5 hrs/week); health benefits and professional development after 6 months
  • Start Date: Flexible (Ideal March 2026)

The Gaia Project helps youth drive climate action through hands-on education in K-12 New Brunswick schools. Last year, we reached over 250 schools and thousands of students, teaching practical solutions for climate change, energy, and waste reduction.

As a New Brunswick-based charity, we offer free experiential programs that build skills and inspire meaningful action. With a bilingual team and strong provincial partnerships, we’re shaping a sustainable future - one classroom at a time.

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to oversee our fundraising and partnership initiatives. In this role, you will oversee supporting staff and lead efforts to secure funding and build strong relationships with partners, ensuring the sustainability and growth of our programs. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to shape strategies that advance climate education across New Brunswick. 

If you are passionate about writing, relationship-building, and driving impact, this position offers the opportunity to lead and innovate in nonprofit fundraising and partnership development. 

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage staff supporting fundraising and partnerships efforts, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight
  • Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities across government, foundation, and corporate sectors 
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including grants, sponsorships, and donor engagement 
  • Oversee the preparation of grant applications, sponsorship proposals, and donor communications, ensuring quality and alignment with organizational goals 
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with partners, sponsors, and donors to strengthen long-term collaboration 
  • Monitor and report on fundraising performance, budgets, and compliance with reporting requirements 
  • Represent the organization at conferences, events, and meetings to promote partnerships and secure sponsorships 
  • Collaborate with leadership on storytelling and marketing strategies to grow visibility and impact 

You Are A Great Fit If You

  • Have proven experience in fundraising, partnerships, or nonprofit leadership 
  • Are an exceptional communicator with strong persuasive writing skills 
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and leadership abilities, with experience managing projects or teams 
  • Are detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at building relationships 
  • Care deeply about climate action, youth, and community impact 
  • Are fluent in English and comfortable reading and understanding French

Bonus 

  • Experience in grant writing, sponsorship development, or donor relations 
  • Knowledge of nonprofit, education, or environmental sectors 
  • Bilingual (English/French) proficiency
