Leading stakeholder engagement and partnerships
for the Ontario Energy Transparency Initiative (OETI)

Position Type: Full-Time (35 hours/week)
Location: Hybrid (living in or near to Aurora, Ontario)
Compensation: $60,000 to $65,000 per annum
Start Date: September 2026
Reports to: Executive Director or designate

About the Role
Windfall Ecology Centre is seeking an Engagement & Partnerships Manager to support the Ontario Energy Transparency Initiative (OETI), a multi-year research, education, and stakeholder engagement project focused on building public understanding, stakeholder readiness, and evidence-based pathways related to future home energy and climate resilience home labelling in Ontario. The successful candidate will lead stakeholder engagement, partnership development, research, communications, and project coordination activities while working with municipalities, industry partners, community organizations, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with municipal, industry, community, and institutional partners.

  • Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, roundtables, advisory meetings, and public engagement activities.
  • Develop presentations, briefing notes, reports, educational resources, and stakeholder communications.
  • Conduct research, policy scans, stakeholder analysis, and project evaluation activities.
  • Support municipal and government engagement through presentations, briefings, and outreach.
  • Identify and pursue new partnership and business development opportunities aligned with Windfall priorities.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in communications, sustainability, planning, public policy, business, environmental studies, or a related discipline.
  • Three or more years of experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, partnership development, research, public affairs, or program delivery.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Preferred Assets

  • Experience working with municipalities, utilities, industry associations, non-profits, or government agencies.
  • Experience in business development, partnership cultivation, sponsorship development, or client relationship management.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, climate resilience, housing, sustainability, or environmental policy.

Working Environment
Windfall offers a flexible hybrid work environment, situated within a forested conservation area, with easy access to trails, green space, and outdoor recreation opportunities. The office is located just minutes from the Aurora GO Train, making it accessible to candidates from a broad geographic area.

The role includes occasional travel within Ontario and some evening meetings to support stakeholder engagement, workshops, municipal presentations, and community events.
