RFP: Part-Time Contract Grant Writer for Climate Action Ripple Effect (CARE)
1 . Introduction
The Fresh Outlook Foundation (FOF) ─ a registered charity founded in 2007 and based in Vernon, BC ─ delivers the Climate Action Ripple Effect (CARE) program in School District 22 (Vernon) and School District 23 (Central Okanagan).
CARE is a climate-focused education and community engagement program where students from grades 6-12 collaborate with community mentors to create inquiry-focused projects in support of municipal climate objectives and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In 2025, almost 1,000 teachers, students, and mentors built more than 200 projects that were displayed at CARE expos in Vernon and Kelowna. CARE Community Impact Awards were given to student teams with plans for relevant, viable, and impactful projects to implement in their schools or communities.
Interest in expanding CARE depth, reach, and impact is strong, meaning we must secure increased funding and more longer-term support from foundations, local governments, government agencies, and corporate partners committed to supporting local climate action by educating and engaging youth and community.
